There was a great turnout for the goundbreaking that took place at the location of the future home of Parker County Committee on Aging (PCCOA): 1410 Vine Street, Weatherford, Texas.
The special event took place on Tuesday, October 13, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. PCCOA provided lunch for all in attendance.
The groundbreaking ceremony started at 11:15 am.
The new facility will be built on property donated by Jerry Durant and will house the Senior Center and Meals on Wheels.
"This is a very exciting event for our seniors and staff. We have been anxiously awaiting this day for several years and I know the entire community of Parker County will benefit from this facility."
- Shelly Mowery, Executive Director of PCCOA
The new building will have about 15,000 square feet with a spacious kitchen to accommodate the more than 500 meals a day that PCCOA prepares for its seniors and Meals on Wheels program.
