TOO MANY SENIORS IN TEXAS ARE LEFT BEHIND, ALONE AND HUNGRY, STRUGGLING TO STAY INDEPENDENT AND HEALTHY. TOGETHER, WE CAN DELIVER.
The number of seniors in our Parker County will grow exponentially over the coming years. Meals on Wheels is a proven public-private partnership that effectively addresses the challenges of aging by promoting health and improving quality of life for Parker County's most vulnerable seniors. In Texas, it is estimated that 985,792 seniors are isolated, living alone. MEALS ON WHEELS DELIVERS THE SUPPORT THAT KEEPS SENIORS IN THEIR OWN HOMES, WHERE THEY WANT TO BE. SENIORS REMAINING AT HOME, OUT OF HOSPITALS AND NURSING HOMES SAVES MONEY. We can provide a senior Meals on Wheels for 1 YEAR for roughly the same cost as 1 DAY in a hospital. Meals on Wheels' clients report fewer falls, which cost our nation $31 BILLION each year. $31 BILLION = Investing in Meals on Wheels is a WIN-WIN for our seniors, our communities and our nation.
Every dollar you donate goes to Parker County's Meals on Wheels program, the senior center, and the dozens of other services we provide.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our organization. Your donations of time and money are vital to the continuation of these services.
